Two More Reasons Why I Read Blogs

I read blogs for a lot of reasons, and I just found two more. Two blogs, within the space of a half an hour, gave me information that I would not have come across on my own.

DaledAmos has a good post about moderate Muslims and how they are trying to make their voice heard above the din.

ZionReport excerpts an interview of a pro-Israel sheikh.

Worth a look.

Thanks for linking to those, WestBankMama. I have often wondered myself where all the moderate Muslims were- I mean, there has to be some out there. Although I don't watch TV here in the US, has there been any Imam or group of Muslims talking moderately here about the cartoon fiasco? I just don't know...

I think those true moderates that exist are mostly scared to come out (I mean if Newspaper editors in Western nations fear Islam, just imagine those who attend the same Mosques as the crazy ones).

I don't think there are a lot of moderates, but I think there would be more if it weren't for the constant threat of beheadment associated with being against anti-Western violence.

regina - I don't have a tv at all, so I can't advise you...

tovya - I think you are right. I think there are a lot of moderate Muslims who would be willing to make peace with Israel but are afraid to speak out.

WestBankMama - don't think you will escape our scrutiny by publishing these lovey-dovey items.

We are tracking you hatemongering religious fanatic settlers. At the slightest sign of seditious behavior, we will shut down this blog!

I'm glad you posted this. Newsweek had a good article about how dictators in the Arab world attacked moderates and encouraged radical Islam, based on the assumption that the Islamisists would never try to gain power. Ha.
Hoping that the internet age will help moderates to get their voices out more and more in the Arab world.

lisoosh - I agree with you. The problem is that there are huge groups of people who cannot afford to own a computer, and there are others who are suspicious of the internet for religious reasons.
