Another Missing Headline, That Shouldn't Be

For those of you who haven't seen Treppenwitz's post from yesterday, May 29th, go read it now. He tells the story of a Palestinian girl suffering from leukemia who is being treated in Israel's best children's hospital - at the expense of - you guessed it - Jews.

This story, of course, was ignored by the mainstream media, and was only reported by Hatzofe and Arutz 7. Shouldn't we do something about that?

Sometimes I think it's not about Jews or Arabs, but Spicing things up. People prefer to read disasters, wars or bad things happening to others, than good and peaceful things.

how can the media print this stuff on the same page as they are printing the boycotting of ISrael by the British and Canadians? It would look bad... better bash Israel now and ignore this.. we could always find some time later to.. well ya bash Israel again and ignore these stories.

This is nothing to be proud of. "Through the mercy of fools all Justice is lost" Ramban.

This is what we are doing showing mercy to our enemies. Remember what the Rambam teaches in Hilchot Melachim, in a Milchemet Mitzvah we spare no one, not the men the women or the children. We need to abandon Western anti-Jewish values for Torah values. When the Torah tells us to be kind we must be kind when the Torah tells us to be cruel we must be cruel and the Torah tells us we must be utterly cruel to both our enemies and their children.

kahane loyalist - we (as in all of klal yisrael)are nowhere near following all of the laws of the Torah, I think you can agree. Therefore it seems a bit strange to pick this specific law to follow, when there are many other things we need to work on. In our present situation not helping an Arab child who is suffering from cancer would be a pointless cruelty.

It is never pointless to follow the Torah. I believe we must follow every Mitzvah we can't pick and choose and there are explicit Mitzvot of war and there is no excuse to disregard them

it's so sad that the old adage "you give an inch and they take a mile" is true. and in individual cases, it's easy to feel compassion and want to help. it's the extremists who ruin this attitude that we should take. besides, if we're supposed to be a light unto nations, we can't just ignore the suffering of innocent children. then that would be reported by the left wing media, about how heartless israel is to arab children. ugh.

Once again the Halacha in regards to nations which war against the JEws is clear NO MERCY, not on the men the women or the children. Rambam Hilchot Melachim states this excplicitly, the idea of being nice to your enemies is in fact a Christian non-Jewish one and there will be repercussions for every avera we perform through issur mercy, remeber it is a Milchemet Mitzvah a war which is a Mitzvah to not perform this is a avera. I challenge anyone to bring a Halachic source for showing mercy to our enemies in a time of war
